A Bengali man, with a big basket on his head, inside the
basket there were a variety of big and small breads, shouting with Cantonese 'fresh bread, can strike or cannot strike,
fresh bread', accent quite accurate, what he
meant was the welfare lottery
tickets he was selling at the same
time, some can ‘strike’ and some ‘cannot strike’.
As he walked by the front door, he was called in by the adults, with the basket on his head he walked straight into the dining halls, put down the big basket on the marble table, opened up the lid, we kids climbed up the wooden chair, heads all surrounding the basket, I took that still warm round coconut bun, jumped off the chair and have a big bite on it, with satisfaction!
