福伯是我门家对面店铺旁边卖冰水的阿伯，妈妈最喜欢喝他的椰水和嫩嫩的椰肉了，他还有卖凉粉及如青色虫仔的‘煎堆雪’，因有椰酱在内，妈妈说吃了会肚子疼。
我们手中握着阿嬷给的五分钱，飞跑过马路，跟福伯买一粒‘揸雪’- 用冰刨成捏成一团的雪球，淋上椰糖和红糖，如福伯喜欢我们的话，他会包一些凉粉或红豆在内，小小的手捧着，小小的口吸着上面的糖水，直到小手麻痹了，嘴唇吮到又红又肿，心中幸福满满！
Uncle Fook was the man selling ice water at the side of the shop directly opposite our
house, mamma liked to drink
the coconut water and the tender coconut flesh, Uncle Fook also selling ‘Leong
Fun’ – a black jelly type of thing and
‘Changdoi’ – which looks like green worms,
mixed with coconut milk, mamma said the coconut milk
inside would make us stomach ache.
We hold the 5 cents which Grandma gave to us tightly in our little hand, dashed across the street to buy an 'Ice Ball' from Fook Pak, he scraped from a big block of ice into fine ice, and made it into a snowball, topped with red syrup and brown sugar, if Fook Pak in a good mood, he would put some ‘Leong Fun’ or red bean inside, we hold the ice ball carefully with both hands, sucking the syrup until our lips and palms became numbed, our heart was full of happiness!
